Thomas Jefferson wrote, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” The word self-evident could be substituted with the word obvious. Americans are living in ignorant bliss. Most would claim to understand the Constitution and their rights, but many are unaware of what is a right and what is a privilege. Some Americans are arguing for majority rule which could violate individual rights by creating a mob mentality that would define your right as a privilege.
The Constitution is not obvious. The President has been violating the Constitutional powers for decades. Executive orders are unconstitutional as the usurp the articles. If the country understood their rights as defined by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution through the Amendments, they would demand better of their government. Ignorance is bliss. And our country is blissfully ignorant. Democrats proudly calling themselves socialist. Republicans calling for increased government surveillance. Each party is lost.
